| FOR YOUR INFORMATION I am the co-coordinator of the Stateline Friends Weaving Retreat and I want to thank all of my fellow Heritage Basketry Guild members who attended the 5th annual event. Thanks also to those who donated food items, anything to the silent auction area, and/or volunteered their time to help. We certainly appreciate all of you and your donations. The retreat was a great success and we are already making plans for the 6th annual event, which will be held April 14, 15, & 16th. I will be sending out teacher proposals around the end of May or the first part of June. If any of you would like to propose to teach at our event, please contact me at: sfwrproposals@gmail.com and I will be sure to add you to the list. If you don't have email, please call me at: (937) 456-6067 and give me your information. I need your name, mailing address, phone number and if you have email, your email address. Thanks again for everything. Wishing you all baskets full of wonderful blessings! Pam Feix PLEASE PUT MY HUSBAND TERRY O'NEAL ON THE PRAYER LIST HE HAS CANCER AND WILL START CHEMO ON MAY 3RD. THANK YOU, SUE O'NEAL I have just been hired for a job in South Carolina and will be moving within the next 1-1/2 weeks. I may already be gone by the May meeting. I don't know yet. In case I am not able to make it for the meeting (and can't finish my two-part basket), I just want to say how much I have really enjoyed being a member of the Dayton Basket Guild. The people are wonderful and I have learned so MUCH! Thank you. ..............Linda Gettler (Good luck in your new job, Linda and we will miss you....Carol) Theresa Cornett is back in the hospital. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery. Carolyn Belczyk has moved and now lives in Adams County, OH, where she works as the Extension Educator, 4-H Youth Development, with OSU Extension. She can no longer attend the Guild's monthly meetings, but hopes to make it to June's Weave in the Park. She attended the Winter Weave in Mentor and Stateline Friends in Richmond, IN. In Indiana she made two woven bracelets, a whisk broom and cake tester, and a herringbone woven seat for a child's chair. I had a lot of fun not weaving baskets, but doing some other "woven" things for a change! (Carolyn, we will miss you at the monthly meetings, but glad you will attend special events...Carol) Carolyn L. Belczyk 106 Walnut St Peebles OH 45660 |

| NEWS ABOUT STATELINE BASKET RETREAT Several Heritage members attended Stateline Basket Retreat in Richmond, IN on April 15, 16, & 17th; Georgann Bates, Carolyn Belczyk, Jennie Dranschak, Margie Hayes, Bernie Jines, Renee McBride, Vicky Nicolaci, Jane Pope, Kathy Spitler and Carol White. Pam Feix was also there as chairperson, and Julie Kleinrath, who was one of the instructors. Anita Pennington, a former member, was also there taking classes. There were about 350 attendees and over 25 teachers. It was very well organized and a good time was had by all. There were so many beautiful baskets available to make and jewelry too. I am planning to go again next year, and if you didn't make it this year, you should consider going in 2011. It is a wonderful learning experience and a great chance to meet new fellow basket weavers and renew old friendships. (Thanks to Bernie Jines for taking these pictures) Carol White Carol White & Kathy Spitler Jennie Dranschak |
