Gently used 3 foot Christmas Tree.  The Christmas tree raffle at MSW was such a success last year that we want to one again for MSW this year.  The guild project for May is Mini Basket Ornaments, and we need a tree
to hang these ornaments on.  The guild is willing to pay a small fee for your tree.  If you can help, contact  Susan Keferl at 296-1996

Who is it?

Here's a cat lover as she has two cats, both of which have her trained well, she says!

Married for 27 years and she has no children. If she could improve on something she'd have peace all over the world (she must have been a former Miss America too!)

She'd love to meet with Ben Franklin, and would do eat the peas off the floor Pierce Brosnon walked on! Our mystery gal is a futurist as she'd chose to live in the future rather than the past!

The funniest thing she recalls happening to her was her wedding day; her sister was the maid of honor and got lost getting to the church. The wedding was postponed for half an hour as this was before cell phones. She says she wouldn't have walked down the aisle until she got there, so they waited!

Our naturist mystery woman tells me that two years ago, Canadian geese nested on their pond. When the time came for the small family to move, they left a little one behind. The small goose swam around for hours until it became exhausted and floated up on the bank. She scooped the poor thing out with a bucket and took it down to the pond where she felt Mom and Dad goose would find it. They did and lived happily ever after!

She finished this sentence: Baskets are like people, they tend to............"become more beautiful as they grow older."

Most of you are familiar with this special lady............now WHO do you think it is!?
Guess the member’s name at the May meeting….Karen W.

Weave in the Park Series returns…………

We have had so much fun getting together on a Saturday in the spring and fall and weaving in the park, let’s do it again!

Our first event will be
Saturday May 24 from 9 AM until you’re ready to leave. Barb Schimming has designed a beautiful basket from one she spotted in an antique store. It’s now been kid tested and weaver approved and is called Aunt Lydia’s Flower Basket.

As before, our event will be at
Taylorsville Reserve off Brown School Road in Vandalia. We have the Red Fox Run Lodge again so there’s water close, restroom facilities within walking distance, plenty of space in which to weave, plenty of laughter and just pray for plenty of sunshine!

Barb will offer
kits to those of you who wish to buy one for $40.00 which includes all the reed and pattern. You may also buy the pattern for $4.00 and bring your own reed. I will send requirements for the necessary reed in April.

This will also be pot luck, so bring your favorite picnic item as I’ll provide hot dogs and buns and we’ll grill those and dine on what everyone else brings.

You don’t have to weave this basket! You can weave, sew, quilt, coil, bead, or just sit and kibitz. Do whatever you’d like but the fun is our gathering and enjoying spring, should it decide to eventually join us! I would like to know how many to plan on so I have plenty of dogs and buns! This is a beautiful location, last time, we even watched deer as they were watching us! So please plan to attend and enjoy a day of fun in the park!

If you already know you want a kit and want to be there, email Barb at barbschimming@roadrunner.com .

Let me know if you want to be there at
dokamii@ameritech.net. We’ll have a fall adventure in the park as well, slated for Sept. 27th. We’ve not decided on a basket yet, so if you have any suggestions, please let me know! We’ll need time to contact the originator of the pattern, get her permission to weave this and buy the correct number of patterns, then I’ll get you the requirements needed for reed.

Many thanks! THINK SPRING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
